A green and clean Bukit Bintang will definitely attract more visitors, both domestic and foreign.

Recently the heat is on, and we need to act. Scientists have stressed that the unprecedented temperatures were due to man-made… climate change. But when we feel the heat, as we have in these few months, we have to start to think seriously of the part we play in warming up our planet earth. The wastes we produced has adverse impact on planet earth if not managed with care. We always say, we think of our future generations but many things we do today have long term effects on the environment, make the wise 3 R decision for the future, do it for ourselves now…! and for future generations. Reduce and recycle of waste, means lesser waste to the landfills, less pollution on the air, land, water resources and hopefully…. less heat… and ultimately less electricity bills. Recycle and Reuse is preserving resources for our future generations.

As parents, our behaviour and practises have great influenced over our children, do right or wrong, they feel is right because their parents did it. Please do right and no wrong -3 R now!, we care…. for our mother earth.

We are really grateful to have partners like Alam Flora, Jabatan Alam Sekitar DBKL, Indah Water Konsortium and SW Corp, responding to my calls in conducting talks,  on 3R awareness and practises to school children. Also my special thanks to College Antarabangsa Green city, Persatuan Penduduk Kampung Malaysia Tambahan, PTR Raya Permai, Rukun Tetangga Taman Bunga Raya Setapak and Resident association of Taman Paragon Heights to share their experience in 3Rs waste management with us. Please free to move around the booths (On my right) after the clean-up and learn a thing or two from our partners which I am certain will benefit us all.

We wish to congratulate Plaza Low Yat in collaboration with LA 21, Recycling and Organics Sdn Bhd and ICycle Malaysia, who jointly initiated the e waste collection program last year. The collection of e waste to date since May last year, amount to about 3,000 kg and still growing.

We wish to thank our partners for their continuous support of venue, equipment, logistic, breakfasts, door gifts and lucky draw prizes for this morning’s event.

Special thanks to the committee for their input and support during meetings in the run up to this event. we also wish to thank my team from the Federal and Capitol in putting things together for this morning’s event.

But most importantly, my heartfelt thanks to everyone,  for your effort in helping us clean up Bukit Bintang Central and hopefully you will start your 3Rs practises as soon as possible if you not done so”
