In conjunction with the spirit of the holy month of Ramadhan, Management & Staff of Federal Hotels International (FHI) and FHI Group of Hotels namely The Federal Kuala Lumpur and Hotel Capitol Kuala Lumpur spreading the festive cheers to children from the Rumah Nur Kasih Bestari at the Kontiki Restaurant of The Federal Kuala Lumpur on Friday, 2 June 2017

“The Federal KL, the hotel for Merdeka was officially opened by our beloved Bapa Malaysia, our first Prime Minister of Malaysia, the late Y.T.M. Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj.  The Federal KL was built to house foreign dignitaries coming to witness the historic celebration.  The children will be treated on an exquisite sumptuous buffet spread of Sajian Nostalgia 60 Tahun Bersama Hotel Federal.  The tempting delicacies will also feature our well-beloved local recipes from traditional favourites to the famed hawker fares; including ever-lasting favourites from Tunku’s Kitchen belonging to Malaysia’ beloved first Prime Minister, Y.T.M. Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al Haj” said Mr Louis Sebastion, General Manager of The Federal Kuala Lumpur.

 

Over 100 traditional dishes to choose from featuring a mammoth spread of authentic Kampung delicacies and traditional delights complemented with favourite local flavours at the Kontiki Restaurant.  Start off the menu with appertizers that include gado gado, rojak buah, ulam-ulam Kampung, selection of ikan masin, tauhu sumbat, pulut kuning with serunding, acar buah acar rampai, tempe goring pedas, ikan rabus goreng, Kerabu Mangga, Kerabu daging just to name a few.  The BBQ cylinder station will include items such as hard shell prawn, tiger prawn, mussel, Pari (stingray) fish, chicken drumstick, Beef & chicken satay, otak-otak, lamb & chicken with Lebanese bread, murtabak with kari ayam amongst other on the list offered.  Soup corner includes cream of mushroom, four treasure with crabmeat, cream of tomato, seafood chowder; bubur lambuk, plus many more.  The scrumptious buffet offers varieties of local and continental savouries to stir your palate.  The list includes sushi & sashimi; roasted & steamed chicken; hot dishes include pucuk manis lemak keledek, Ayam Padprik, braised assorted mushroom with vegetable; grilled lamb cutlet on ratatouille; roasted duck with quick orange sauce; paru goreng berempah, dalca kambing, mussel masak pedas asam, Lamb Kofta, ikan tenggiri asam pedas; ayam kurma berkentang; Hungarian beef goulash, Pasta Arabiata, fried tiger prawns with thick soya sauce, sayor kobis goreng cerdawan, baked pumpkin with provencal herb; daging kurma berkentang, char grilled minute steak glazed with mustard grain sauce and fried onion, pasta with seafood aglio-olio and many more.

The Favourite Dishes from the Tunku’s Kitchen or Hidangan Kegemaran Dari Dapur Tunku, most importantly, this legacy cookbook is our Federal Hotels International and The Federal Kuala Lumpur’s tribute dedicated to our Malaysia’s beloved first Prime Minister or our Father of Independence, Y.T.M. Tunku Abdul Rahman.  Other equally delectable dishes are bukhari rice, Lamb and chicken with Lebanese bread or Pita Bread; Murtabak with Kari Ayam including the mouth-watering local desserts!  In this joyous occasion, the hotel management team from Federal Hotels International and The Federal Kuala Lumpur will present the Hari Raya Hamper and distribute raya packets to the children of Rumah Nur Kasih Bestari.
