16th Latin American Festival at Low Yat Park (formerly bbpark) on Sunday, 9 November 2025

The vibrant and highly anticipated 16th Latin American Festival is back and promises all the thrills in its 16th annual outing at Low Yat Park in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur.

Mr Douglas Crichton, Area Director of Plaza Low Yat said “We are honoured to host the 16th edition of the Latin American Festival, and just like previous years, attendees can look forward to a vibrant day filled with exciting activities and the authentic flavours of all eight Latin American countries. This festival continues to strengthen the bi-lateral bonds between Latin American nations and Malaysia, offering Malaysians a unique opportunity to understand and embrace diverse cultures.  We are committed to seeing this cultural event continuing to flourish in the future, helping to further transform Low Yat Bukit Bintang into a dynamic cultural hub for both local and international events alike.”

Ms Ooi Lee Ping, Director of Group Marketing, Sales & Business Development and Operations of Federal Hotels International (FHI) said “It is an honour to have the YBhg. Dato' Seri TPr (Dr.) Maimunah binti Mohd Sharif, Mayor of Kuala Lumpur with us here this morning to officiate our 16th Latin American Festival.  Our journey begun in 2011 when Federal Hotels International together with Plaza Low Yat and bbpark (now Low Yat Park) collaborate with the Latin American and Caribbean (GRULAC) Embassies, and the Latin Women’s Association of Malaysia (LWAM) on the 3rd Latin American Festival held for the very first time at bbpark on Sunday, 22 May 2011. The annual Latin American Festival is a testament to the enduring friendship and cultural exchange where the world can come together to share its many colourful cultural diversity with the local and expatriate communities as well as domestic and international tourists alike.  Malaysia is blessed with rich cultural diversity.  The promotion of various festivities and cultural elements will further boost tourism as Malaysia is gearing up for Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (VMY2026), and in this spirit, the 16th Latin American will spice up Bukit Bintang and Kuala Lumpur City once again! This is a great opportunity for Malaysians to experience the rich culture and get an authentic taste of Latin American cuisine whilst at the same time spreading a little spirit of cheer and kindness as proceeds from this Latin American festival will be channeled to two charitable organizations. We are most happy to work in strategic partnership this meaningful rewarding annual Charity event, which is one of our FHI Group’s continuous Sharing & Caring Community Commitments, reaching out to the community. We would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to our partner Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (Kuala Lumpur City Hall), Malaysian Red Crescent as well as sponsors from Bluestar AMG and Ethiopian Airlines.”

Our thanks to Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (Kuala Lumpur City Hall) for the continuous support and contribution to our Latin American Festivals over the years since 2014, be it in term of technical and logistic support, security, traffic control, permit and road closure as well as performing arts, dance and music programmes including the listing of the next 17th Latin American Festival 2026 in DBKL Calendar of Events 2026 for the upcoming Visit Malaysia Year 2026.

This one-day event celebrates the diversity of culture, food and rhythms of Latin America and the Caribbean, a great opportunity for all to experience the rich culture, arts & crafts, handicrafts, music & dance, as well as the delicious taste and flavors of each of these vibrant Latin America and Caribbean Countries from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Peru, and Uruguay.

Adding to the excitement, attendees can enter the festival’s lucky draw by purchasing raffle tickets, which will be available throughout the event.  A special raffle will be held in the evening, featuring exciting prizes including a round-trip economy ticket to either São Paulo or Buenos Aires, courtesy of Ethiopian Airlines, along with other attractive prizes sponsored by Plaza Low Yat.

The funds raised at the 16th Latin American Festival will be donated to MyKasih Foundation who runs a Skills & Entrepreneurship Training programme which includes a dedicated sewing program with the provision of modern sewing machines designed to empower low-income women and help them achieve financial independence; as well as to Persatuan Membantu Orang Kelainan to support the project “1 Blind 1 Cane” for visually impaired people who use canes as a mobility aid to move around independently.

Join us for a wonderful day of celebration, as we celebrate 16 years of bringing the vibrant culture of Latin America to Bukit Bintang, in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
