THE FEDERAL KUALA LUMPUR MERDEKA CHARITY TREAT ON THURSDAY, 15 AUGUST 2019 

In conjunction with the 62ND Merdeka Celebrations 2019 and the 62ND Anniversary of The Federal Lumpur, Federal Hotels International (FHI) Group of Hotels namely The Federal Kuala Lumpur, Hotel Capitol Kuala Lumpur and Tribeca Serviced Suites Bukit Bintang jointly organize our FHI Merdeka Charity Treat on Thursday, 15 August 2019 at the Kontiki Restaurant.

Ms Ooi Lee Ping, Director Group Marketing, Sales & Business Development and Operations of Federal Hotels International (FHI) “We are deeply honoured to have YTM Tunku Datin Paduka Khadijah, daughter of YTM Tunku Abdul Rahman, our Malaysian synchronised swimmer Zylane Lee, and our professional Malaysian Car Racer, Jazeman Jaafar to celebrate this very special occasion with us together with some 80 children from Rumah Titian Kaseh and Yayasan Sunbeams Home. In line with this year's Merdeka Day Celebrations themed Sayangi Malaysiaku: Malaysiaku Bersih, which again encourages all Malaysians to love Malaysia and fly our Jalur Gemilang during this Merdeka month Celebrations, this year’s Merdeka Celebration is significant as we all continued to be inspired for a greater and progressive Malaysia, in the Muhibbah spirit of Harmony, Hope and Unity in Diversity which befits our Merdeka spirit of celebrating Malaysia’s diversity, promotes unity, togetherness and understanding among Malaysians in conjunction with the upcoming this 62nd National Day 2019 celebration as well as Malaysia Day”.

“Federal Hotels International Group of Hotels embrace Merdeka Spirit with Sports as Sports is a great unifying factor that encourages people to come together to support our athletes. While sports brings glory to our Nation, its unifying factor is of more value as it transcends all. It is always heartening to see all Malaysians united as we cheered and supported our Sportsmen and Sportswomen. It is heartwarming every time Malaysian spectators cheer our athletes and the cheers grow louder when Malaysian athletes win a medal. The camaraderie is always evident and everyone is touched by the sporting spirit and unity shown by Malaysians when we cheered and it instill our patriotic spirit as well as strengthen social integration. We are always immensely inspired by the spirit demonstrated by our National athletes which have made us proud in their sporting spirits, inspiring achievements through their passion for excellence, intense training to achieve their dreams in the spirit of togetherness, friendship and sportsmanship who will be good role models for the younger generation. In this spirit of sportsmanship, camaraderie and our Merdeka spirit, let us congratulate both Zylane Lee and Jazeman Jaafar in their achievements todate as we are all inspired by their passion and hard work in representing Malaysia. Zylane Lee, the Gold Medal Winner of the 2017 Kuala Lumpur 29th SEA Games in the free routine duet event in synchronised swimming competition with Gan Hua Wei. Jazeman Jaafar, our professional Malaysian racing driver was part of a Team together with Nabil Jeffri and Weiron Tan who made history for Malaysian motorsports by becoming the first all-Malaysian Team to win a race in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) race in October 2018 and has also won a total eleven kart race victories in both Malaysia and in Belgium.  Both Zylane and Jazeman made our Nation proud, they demonstrated hard work, grit, determination, discipline and fighting spirit.”

The Federal Kuala Lumpur, also known as the Hotel for Merdeka, was the first international Hotel, which opened its doors on 28 August 1957 to welcome all VIPs, foreign dignitaries, and diplomats who arrived in Kuala Lumpur to witness Malaya celebrate her independence on 31 August 1957.  The Federal Hotel has embodied the spirit of Malaysia in both its design and themes befitting its role as the venue for all official banquet receptions and functions hosted by the Federal Government and private sector alike.  To celebrate this double joyous occasions, Malaysia & The Federal Hotel Kuala Lumpur, both celebrating its 62 Anniversary, and in paying tribute to our Bapa Malaysia, the late Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al Haj, our first Prime Minister of Malaysia, our Team of Chefs from The Federal Hotel Kuala Lumpur has specially selected some recipes of Tunku’s favourite dishes from Favourite Dishes from the Tunku’s Kitchen cookbook for this afternoon luncheon.  The Federal Kuala Lumpur will be distributing the Jalur Gemilang flag sharing the same patriotic cause of promoting unity, patriotism and love for our Country.  Kita semua Anak-Anak Malaysia, in the spirit of Merdeka, let’s come together to fly our Jalur Gemilang and together we stand as A Nation solidified in Unity and Harmony, let us aspire to realise our goals together for a greater and progressive Malaysia – Kita Punya Malaysia, Sayangi MalaysiaKu, Selamat Hari Kemerdekaan ke 62!
